Collaboration and Innovation at the Nordic & Baltic ESA BIC Startup Event

The Nordic & Baltic ESA BIC Startup Event 2026 brought together the region’s space innovation community in Stockholm for two inspiring days in April, of exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking ideas.

Startups, investors, ESA representatives, and industry experts from seven countries gathered to explore how space technologies are creating real-world impact - from satellite-enabled disaster response and AI-driven operations in orbit to applications in agriculture, health, defence, and urban development.

Beyond the stage programme, the most valuable outcomes emerged in the conversations in between. Networking and matchmaking sessions sparked new partnerships, investor dialogues, and cross-border collaboration across the Nordic and Baltic ecosystem.

Key insights:

●      The region is a good global hub for space innovation

●      Collaboration between startups, industry, and investors is essential to scaling solutions

●      A connected ecosystem is critical to turning ideas into impact

The event also highlighted the growing role of the ESA BIC network in enabling innovation by connecting startups with expertise, infrastructure, and international opportunities.

With strong engagement and multiple follow-up discussions already initiated, the event confirmed one clear message: the Nordic and Baltic space ecosystem is gaining momentum and moving forward together.
